The Birthday Party

This is a link Of my work sheet, From that you can get more information about "The Birthday Party" Play by Harold Pinter.

Respected sir,
Here I am giving response to the interpretation of the play "The Birthday party". As per my view Harold Pinter use this title symbolic way. Title is the symbol of change that some change is coming. In this play Harold Pinter uses many symbols like Drum is the symbol of art which was break down in the end of second act. Stanley's glasses are symbol of his own vision towards life. Goldberg and other characters celebrates Stanley's birthday but Stanley is not happy that time, Because they are celebrate his birthday because they are successful in to change Stanley's vision. They torture him even forcefully they change his vision. We can apply here existentialism that as Stanley wants to live his life in his own way but Goldberg, Maccan and other characters are not ready to accepte his freedom of life or his way of life so they torture him they are the symbol of society, as society is not ready for freedom or new thing that way they are not ready for that. So at the end of the play these all characters are win and they change the way of Stanley's life. Stanley lost his creativity, freedom and vision of his life and than he has to do that what society wants.
